Fire Rescue Robotics Research Center presented a multifunction rough terrain platform


The robot was demonstrated at the International Forum on Industrial Safety

Fire Rescue Robotics Research Center of EMERCOM of Russia developed and presented MRP-100 multifunction rough terrain mobile robot platform designed to ensure industrial safety. Mikhail Savin, Deputy Head of Robotics R&D Center, demonstrated the machine during the International Forum on Industrial Safety on Wednesday, BNA reports.

The robot platform is intended for exploring emergency areas. The remotely-controlled machine is able to traverse various obstacles, carry equipment for collection of water and soil samples and to perform video-surveillance.

The battery life is four hours. The platform is intended to be used in the oil and gas industry and mining as well as by EMERCOM, FSS and military divisions.

The International Forum on Industrial Safety is held in St. Petersburg every year. In 2018, it is the 16th time. This year the Forum venue is Hilton Hotel St. Petersburg Expoforum. The conference was attended by more than 170 people from different states. The organizer is GCE Group.
