Lebedinsky GOK (a subsidiary of Metalloinvest) has successfully passed a diagnostic audit of the energy management system for compliance with ISO 50001:2011 “Energy management systems – Requirements with guidance for use”.
The diagnostic audit of the energy management system, that is the first step towards implementation of this standard in the company, was performed by GCE-Energo. During their visit to Lebedinsky GOK, the consultants studied all necessary documents and approaches of the plat to energy use and consumption.
The experts marked some strong points of the existing energy management system of Lebedinsky GOK. Those included high professionalism of energy experts and services, energy saving projects in place, measures to involve the staff into energy efficiency improvement, application of modern energy-efficiency equipment in line with design solutions. In order to help the company to enforce its efforts in energy management, the experts suggested a number of recommendations meeting the requirements of ISO 50001.
The certification of energy management systems is performed at all main plants of Metalloinvest. Oskol electrometallurgical plant (Oskol, Belgorod region) has already had its EMS certified for compliance with ISO 50001. Diagnostic audits have been successfully conducted at Ural Steel (Novotroitsk, Orenburg region) and Mikhaylovksy GOK (Zheleznogorsk). The company also employs other international standards such as ISO 9001:2015 for quality management, OHSAS 18001:007 for occupational safety and health and ISO 14001:2015 for environmental management.
