For the first time in the Forum history, a delegation of Nigerian government officials will attend the conference and present national innovations in the oil and gas industry.
This year, the Forum held annually by GCE Group welcomes representatives of Nigeria. The officials of Lagos State Government and Department of Petroleum Resources will tell about industrial safety in Nigeria with a focus on the oil and gas sector.
Department of Petroleum Resources is responsible for exploration and import of petroleum products, safety supervision and other matters related to export and import. Lagos is the biggest city in Nigeria and the most economically developed area with almost half of major industrial companies concentrated here.
Nigeria is an oil-producing nation. It is the leading oil producer in Africa and overtook South Africa to become Africa’s largest economy in terms of GDP in 2014. The oil sector accounts for 14% of GDP, 95% of export income and 80% of Government earnings.
