Environmental services, subsidiaries of Rosneft Oil Company, participated in XIII International Forum on Industrial Safety

Environmental services of Rosneft Oil Company held their annual meeting dedicated to World Environment Day at the venue of XIII International Forum on Industrial Safety hosted by GCE Group.

The meeting was targeted to discussion of corporate standards related to environment safety and tools for environment protection efficiency improvement and carrying out of trainings for Rosneft employees.

After the official part of the program, the participants planted commemorative rhododendron bushes in the Botanical Garden of Peter the Great, visited St.Petersburg water treatment facilities known for the best waste water purification practices and took part in the excursion to the waste disposal polygon which plays a vital part in solving the issue of wastes disposal and maintaining eco-balance by application of the most advanced technologies and equipment.

International Forum on Industrial Safety is held annually in St.Petersburg. The event is supported by the CIS Executive Committee, IAEA and the UNECE. Delegates from 35 countries the UK, the USA, Brazil, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, Hungary, South Korea, Poland, Chile, the Republic of Belarus, Ukraine and Kazakhstan and others have already participated in the Forum.

Forum participant’s opinion

«All over the Forum I discussed with other specialists future activities arising from the problems mentioned here. At the moment the Forum is very much fixed on problems with industrial safety in Russia and neighboring countries like Kazakhstan, Belorussia and so on. But we need to open it more for international standards.

Nearly every presentation was to some extent interesting for me, for example the methodologies for risk assessment, because this is also the topic in European Union constraints. But also the topics which are far away from problem fields in Germany, problems with pipelines, for instance. These topics are really new for me, and normally, I didn’t have knowledge about this.

The organizational level of event was very high and I don’t want to complaint anything. I have one proposal concerning information transfer – presentation interpretation by two interpreters is not enough. I would like also to have presentations in two languages – Russian and English. It is too much for an interpreter to transform all the information and slides, so some people were not able to understand the language».
